In memory of his appreciation of high achievement in scholastic academics and athletics, this scholarship is being presented to two graduating seniors who have demonstrated above average achievement.
Maynard Janecka founded Janecka Insurance Agency and represented the Victoria Local Chapter of Germania Farm Mutual from 1975 through 1986. He also served on Germania's Board of Directors. He was very active in many civic organizations and always exhibited concern for the welfare of his fellow man. He valued the support of family and christian beliefs, especially acting charitably on behalf of others. He was also an avid supporter of youth in athletics, umpiring youth baseball for many years. He held that academic achievement was key in a student's preparation for life. He was inspired by those who rose up against adversity and overcame hardship through valiant endeavoring.
In recognition of his ideals, this scholarship was created to reward students who exhibit like qualities and ideals. In the selection for this award, judges will consider: academic achievement; athletic accomplishments, other extra-curricular school activity, and involvement in volunteer organizations either civic, extra curricular or church related.
Please Note: As part of the scholarship review, the selection committee will need a copy of the student's transcript included with the completed essay application.
A criteria for this award include: The requirement that the student, or his/her parents be members of the Germania Farm Mutual, Local #240, Victoria Chapter. This membership arises out of carrying a policy through Germania Farm Mutual. (Grandparents or other relation do not qualify). The student shall be a current year high school graduate, who has maintained a grade average of 85 or above. There is no requirement that the family be eligible for Financial Aid.

Applications must be received by 5:00pm on the last Friday of April of the current year to be considered by the selection committee, which will meet shortly thereafter in May.
